In the current issue of Kiplinger's magazine, I happened to see the editorial article, and they mentioned that there are some SUVs that are made in the United States. Isn't that wonderful news?
In Spartanburg County, South Carolina the BMW X3 is manufactured at this plant, and it is supposed to have a diesel engine option as well. There is a website that talks about the BMW factory that is in the United States, here is the link right here if you want to check it out:
Another make of SUV that the magazine specifies is the Mercedes-Benz. In Tuscaloosa, Alabama the factory has made the M-Class, the R-Class and the GL-Class of Mercedes SUVs and is expanding. Here is the link for their factory if you want to check it out:
The final make that the magazine points out is Subaru. In Lafayette, Indiana they make the Subaru Legacy, Outback and Tribeca. Feel free to check out the website of the factory here:
This is good news to know about SUVs made in the United States. This will help plan for the future if you want to buy an American made brand of SUV. I have always been for bringing manufacturing back to the United States so that we can buy more American made products. We are making progress, but still a long ways to go.
