- According to a Facebook message attributed to Letisha Bush of WALA-TV's news department, the reason for her not being a news presenter for WALA-TV's local 4:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 4:00 p.m.") recently was due to her doing more news reporting for WALA-TV recently (her official Twitter page and the "Meet our Team" section of the official World Wide Web site for WALA-TV still have the technical term "anchor" for her position of news presenter while her Facebook profile does not).
- Bob Grip of WALA-TV's news department had bucket of ice dumped over his head on WALA-TV's local 9:00 p.m. news program this past Tuesday, August 19th, as part of a recent Internet trend that involved folks being challenged to either have buckets of ice dumped over their own heads or have money donated to organizations specialized in helping folks living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS).
- Darwin Singleton of WPMI-TV's news department recently started using certain segments of WPMI-TV's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") to wish certain parts of WPMI-TV's local broadcast area "good morning" on a regular basis, usually immediately after certain commercial breaks during which the program would have a wide camera view of a certain location in the broadcast area before part of a contemporary song plays with the camera view being broadcast.
