  • According to WALA-TV, the reason for their news reporter and Sunday news presenter Michael Brannon assuming the roles of sports reporter and sports presenter for their local news programming recently was due to his being part of their transitional plan for introducing a new regular sports reporter and sports presenter for their local news programming in the future.
  • Today's edition of WPMI-TV's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") had special tributes for their departing employee Pat Greenwood since today was his last day in one of the positions of news presenter on the program due to his plan to leave the position in order to devote more time to his positions at the University of South Alabama in Mobile (the tributes included his colleagues wishing him well through video recordings and live appearances, some of his children speaking to him by telephone, recordings of some of his past sports reports for WPMI-TV from the time his primary position at WPMI-TV was sports reporter, recordings of some of WPMI-TV's past local newscasts with him as news presenter along with other former news presenters for WPMI-TV (their names were Tami Brehse, Varion Walton, and Angela Martin), and all of his children appearing live with him along with other relatives of his (including his wife and his parents) near the end of program).
