  • Some employees of WALA-TV helped renovate the Magnolia Springs Head Start Center in Magnolia Springs, Alabama (southeast of Mobile) this past Thursday, August 14th, as part of a company effort planned for that day called "Day of Caring" (some of the employees did live reports about the effort for WALA-TV's local news programming that day).
  • Comcast Cablevision of Mobile had another high-definition cable TV channel for the SEC Network (channel 191) added to their cable TV system shortly before its programming commenced this past Thursday (the system all ready had two channels for their programming by then: one for the standard-definition version of their programming (channel 727) and one for the high-definition version (channel 1738)).
  • This past Thursday's edition of WALA-TV's local morning news program (it was recently renamed "FOX 10 Morning News", according to the "live streaming video" section of the World Wide Web site for WALA-TV) had an abrupt break for commercial advertisements between 7:25 and 7:28 seconds after the weather segment between those times blacked out (the presenter of the segment (Michael White of WALA-TV's weather department) told its audience the "weather system" he used to present the segment caused the blackout before presenting another weather segment immediately after the break at 7:28).
