  • According to the official World Wide Web site for the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC), Telesouth Communications of Jackson, Mississippi had a permit from the commission to have a new transmitter facility constructed for WOSM-FM (103.1; licensed to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, southwest of Mobile) that would have increased WOSM-FM's broadcast area and made their programming easier receive in Mobile County, including the city of Mobile, until they had it cancelled and replaced by an application for a permit to only upgrade the height of the broadcast antenna for WOSM-FM's current transmitter facility while maintaining its current level of power (50,000 watts of effective radiated power, unlike the 100,000 watts WOSM-FM would have had if Telesouth Communication had proceeded with their plan to have a new transmitter facility constructed for WOSM-FM, according to the application for the cancelled permit).
