Prospect Park’s Jeff Kwatinetz, the man at the forefront of bringing the much missed soaps One Life To Live and All My Children back to life to its new home online, posted a very heartfelt thank you message to the steadfast fans of the beloved soaps. He posted it on Jordi Vilasuso’s (Griffin, AMC) new Paos Revolution website!
Mr. Kwatinetz posted, “While the battle to get into production on All My Children and One Life to Live was long and difficult, we are beyond excited to be so close from finally having the director say “action!” I am truly so passionate about these two shows and I am working as hard as I possibly can to help make them the best they can be. I’m touched by the support the fans have given us and we couldn’t possibly have arrived at this point without them.”
Prospect Park is scheduled to begin production of All My Children and One Life to Live just two weeks from now on February 25th! SID reported “All My Children will tape first for two weeks at the Stamford, Connecticut studios. Then, One Life to Live will shoot episodes for five weeks. Next, All My Children will return and tape for five weeks. ”“They’ll be alternating back and forth until each show has completed 17 weeks of taping. Everyone is looking forward to seeing each other again,” says their source.
Roger Howarth is returning to One Life to Live, but only for the first four weeks. He will begin filming in March for the Hulu/iTunes aired series before returning to “General Hospital”.
Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer,OLTL) tweeted her excitement at visiting the new digs of One Life To Live in Connecticut. Kassie tweeted, “I went to the new OLTL/AMC studio yesterday. OMG- so excited I cried. Sets are being built Costumes designed Magic is in the making #OLTL“
Ted King (Tomas, OLTL, Alcazar, GH ) told Soap Opera Digest that he was in talks with Prospect Park to return as Tomas, but it looks like he will not be joining the launch of OLTL's return. “I was in negotiations for One Life recently. I’ve always felt that online is the future of a lot of television and I think it’s a great idea. I think Prospect Park is really smart to have licensed the rights to these shows and I think it’s great that they’ve gotten the funding and are making it happen. Ultimately, we couldn’t reach a deal, but we left doors open.” he stated
The good news for Ted is he will appear in a new comedy pilot called Alpha House starring with John Goodman and Mark Consuelos(AMC) We do know that Patrick J Gibbons will return as Sam
As for All My Children, ABC Soaps In Depth has reported from some of their sources the following: “AMC will have a heavy emphasis on a group of high school characters and that the series will be set five years from the moment JR readied to start shooting beloved Pine Valley citizens in the broadcast finale. Speaking of JR, the re-launched AMC will be start off with Adam and Dixie’s son waking up from a coma!” We know that Jacob Young is contracted to B&B and so they will be recasting JR.
Michael E Knight will not be returning as Tad, not yet anyway, even though the character of Tad is included in the script . He has decided to wait it out for awhilem but hopefully "Tad the Cad" will return to his lady love, Dixie played by the returning Cady Mclain.
Julia Barr will also be returning as Brooke English, in a Tweet it was said “We are thrilled to share that not only will fans see @Susan_Lucci at the start of the #AMC relaunch but also David Canary and Julia Barr!”
