Searching for political news this morning and four stories bubble to the surface.
First, there is this frightening story that Barack Obama has made a land grab from New Mexico where he wants to secure 500,000 acres of desert for a national park. Conspiracy theorists have it that the Organ Mountains will one day become Obama Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument. Exploiting this move, conservatives hope to scare the living bejesus out of New Mexicans and motivate them to vote for freedom from Obama.

Could this become a way station for illegal immigrants?
Stories like that are so plentiful in America that Kurt Eichenwald at Vanity Fair has brought the matter to the forefront.

The results are in: we’re a nation of idiots.
Well, that might overstate the case a bit. But some of the latest polling data does seem to show that at least 30 percent of American citizens—and maybe lots more—are as dumb as a bag of inbred hammers.
The poll in question is a delightful one put out this week by Public Policy Polling, a concern ranked by Fordham University as the best out of 28 organizations for the accuracy of its national pre-election estimates in 2012. This time, the folks at P.P.P. decided to have a bit of fun, and rather than polling about which political party is up or down, opted to ask Americans about their beliefs in conspiracy theories. I can just imagine the laughter at the P.P.P. offices when they started putting together the questions.
The results, though, were no comedy. More like a horror movie—and one with a plotline that goes beyond any level of belief.
How many of you think Barack Obama is the Antichrist? You know, the fella (or fellas, depending on which part of the Bible you’re reading) confronted by Jesus in the Second Coming? Twenty-six percent of Americans either believe that the president is preparing for war with the Messiah or aren’t sure that he isn’t. (Of course, since Obama has been in office for five years, these yahoos should really start to wonder what’s taking Jesus so long to get back to Earth to confront the demon president.)
This just in from Jerusalem: Deal shmeal.
“Iran president says nuclear talks at tough juncture, deal possible
The lack of progress in talks in Vienna has raised doubts over the prospects for a breakthrough by the self-imposed July 20 deadline.
Rouhani said an early deal would benefit all but there was "no rush" to finalize the talks. If the deadline was not met, the interim agreement could be extended for another six months, he said.
"The signs, the indications that we have been receiving in the past few days, are telling us that it is very likely that we can come to an agreement by the end of July," he said.
To reach a deal by the deadline will require good will on the part of the six countries opposite Iran at the negotiating table. In addition, "some certain countries behind the scenes who want to create problems" should not be given a chance to "sabotage" the talks, he said.
Barack Obama has already said that he is no hurry. We are way past the red line, lost in the Organ desert.
The FBI has made a new discovery, or has produced a new theory to be proven if they can ever get to the bottom of it, and that is the Tsarnaev brothers had training and bomb making assistance. What, we already knew that months ago? That trail has been beaten down before.

Let’s keep this story alive before people forget what we are prosecuting must be the thinking. An investigative producer must keep investigating.
The real news is that China is now caught up in the global Jihad. The Xinjiang is home to the Uyghur who a Muslim sect. Uyghur extremists or terrorists have bombed people. Is this an expression of religious freedom, a fight for religious freedom, or is it terrorism? At what point do religion and terrorism intersect?

The vehicles raced toward the market an hour after sunrise, one from the north and another from the south, mowing over pedestrians and tossing explosives. One of the vehicles itself then exploded.
In moments, 31 were dead and 90 injured as the latest in a string of deadly terror attacks again stained streets with blood in Urumqi, the capital of China’s far western Xinjiang region, which is home to the country’s ethnic Uyghur population.
