The 9th Annual Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival will be held September 19-21, 2014, starring celebrity chefs Martha Stewart and Sara Moulton in Newport, Rhode Island. According to a press release by the Regan Communications Group on Monday, June 30, the Marble House lawn will once again be the setting for the two-day Grand Tasting, which offers guests the chance to sample hundreds of wines from around the world and cuisine from regional restaurants and caterers.

Headlining the Grand Tastings, cooking on the Jenn-Air Master Class Culinary Stage, will be Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and television chef and author Sara Moulton. Martha Stewart is the internationally-renowned lifestyle expert whose company reaches 100 million consumers monthly, and an Emmy Award-winning television host, radio talk show host, entrepreneur and best-selling author of 82 books (and counting). Sara Moulton is the host of public television’s Sara’s Weeknight Meals and has hosted several popular shows on the Food Network. She is also the author of several cookbooks.

Also participating in the weekend cooking demonstrations will be several other local and regional favorites. Michael Ferraro is the Executive Chef of Delicatessen and creator of Mac Bar in New York City and will bring his elegantly casual culinary approach to the stage. Dan Enos is Executive Chef & Managing Partner of Boston’s Oceanaire Seafood Room and is devoted to sourcing the best, ultra-fresh New England and global seafood. Rounding out the weekend's cooking schedule will be local favorites Karsten Hart, Executive Chef at Newport's Castle Hill Inn, Executive Chef Jonathan Cartwright of MUSE at Vanderbilt Grace, and a chocolatier from Guittard Chocolate.

The Grand Tastings will also feature book signings by the guest chefs and other authors throughout the weekend.

The elegant Friday night Wine & Rosecliff gala will feature a special selection of fine wines and food amid seaside Gilded Age splendor. Also returning is the Collectible Wine Dinner at The Elms on Saturday night. This dinner will give guests the chance to taste and learn about a variety of high-end collectible wines paired with a delectable meal. All of the wines will be hand-selected by the Festival’s Director of Wines, Michael Greenlee, a 25 year veteran of the industry.

An exclusive Sunday Winemakers’ Brunch, featuring the wonderful rosés of Chateau d'Esclans, will be served in the Gilded Age splendor of the Gold Ballroom at Marble House. This is a unique experience not to be missed.

Guests will have an extra opportunity to enjoy late night bites and cocktails by some of the Festival sponsors with the return of Newport After Dark, taking place on Saturday night at Forty 1° North on the Newport waterfront.

Three days of seminars begin Friday, allowing visitors the opportunity to learn about wines from different regions of the world. Guests are encouraged to ask some of the industry’s most respected experts about tasting, pairing and buying of wine.
