Newman, and the plague of liberal Catholicism

See also

John Henry Newman once wrote, "Liberalism in religion is the doctrine that there is no positive truth in religion, but that one creed is as good as another..."

And sadly, this has been a major contributor to the weakening of the United States of America.

Liberal (progressive) Catholics have introduced a demythologized, non substantial Jesus into the most vital moral and ethical conversations in recent American history. This disciple of pseudo-Jesus works for 'social justice,' or, as a well mannered social worker, for socialism, without the burdensome gospel. This disciple of the pseudo-Jesus accepts the compromise of the 'culture of death,' not willing to risk social (pop) ostracizing, but rather, offering the unborn baby (abortion) and the non-functioning elderly person (euthanasia) as part of their membership dues. This quasi-Catholic votes for, supports, and endorses, the very people that persecute religious freedom--far from resembling the Spirit of the Risen, and genuine, Catholic Christ.

Newman continues, "It is inconsistent with any recognition of any religion as true. It teaches that all are to be tolerated, for all are matters of opinion."

I once attended a very liberal pastoral ministry school in Arcadia, Florida, named the Rice School for Pastoral Ministry. There I was introduced to the 'myth' of Jesus' birth narratives in the gospel; the 'myth' of Satan; the call for a female priesthood; and the progressive/liberal breakdown, and critique, of Catholic Theological Tradition.

It's a miracle anyone graduates with a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus. That's like trying to cozy up to Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Catholicism, at one time in American history, though not always politically popular, was an anchor in the American sea of morality and ethics. When the 1960's, and its sexual revolution--not to mention many other ideological revolutions--stormed our nation, coinciding with Vatican Council II, the spirit of liberalism infected the American soul. Judaeo-Christianity became a shackle around the collective neck of a progressive people. Catholicism was the highest symbol of this shackling. Catholics fled en masse to the powerful and popular progressive movement in America.

As they fled, America crumbled.

Now, abortion is a reproductive right. Euthanasia is a mercy killing. 'Oxy' of all morons! Religious persecution (in HHS mandates) ensures contraceptive health against the disease of childbirth. But most of all, the greatest achievement of the liberal Catholic, is the absolute discrediting of the Teaching Authority of the Apostles of Jesus Christ. For, what most people see nowadays, when they observe a 'Catholic,' is a disobedient child, snubbing their nose at Holy Mother Church, in effect, snubbing their prodigal snotty noses at the Merciful Father of us all.

And this is the plague of liberal Catholicism.
