Donald Driver may have hung up his Green Bay Packer uniform, but he’s not ready for retired life just yet. JSonline in Milwaukee reported on Feb. 28 that the former Packer Wide Receiver is exploring future possibilities in the realm of television, and not necessarily limited to sports.
A favorite on “Dancing With the Stars”, Double D went on to win the coveted mirror ball trophy during season 14 in 2012, proving he has the charm as well as the moves to make it on other than just the football field. Following his win on DWTS, Driver has since made guest appearances on a number of television shows which apparently fueled his desire to be involved on a more permanent level.
The first co-host on ABC’s “Katie” with host Katie Couric, he’s also had his hands in “Good Morning America”. Donald tweeted on Feb. 28 that he had just finished shooting “Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition” the night before and was working on SN that day (co-hosting on ESPN2’s “SportsNation”), and has appearances scheduled for both ESPN and ESPN2 next week.
Driver has said he’s not limiting himself to sports television, and with so many appearances in the talk show arena with a smattering of reality TV appearances thrown in, it’s hard to say which locker room he’ll choose to hang his uniform in. He’s apparently not hung up his dancing shoes, though, as he and his wife participated in “Dancing With Our Stars” (DWOS), a charity event for the American Red Cross in Green Bay on Feb. 23. Not to be outdone by her fleet-footed husband, Betina came home with her own mirror ball trophy that night, so the couple has a matching pair to display on their mantle.
