Newly adopted animals require patience, understanding, and time to adjust to their new surroundings. They require close supervision since they are unfamiliar, scared, and don’t understand that their new guardians are there to give them a better life.

Pluto, an 8-year-old German Shepherd weighing between 65-70 pounds, was adopted from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, and arrived in Connecticut the day after Thanksgiving. He had been with his new - and now heartbroken - mom, Tina in Wallingford, CT for just two short weeks before becoming lost on December 12.

He went missing near Hall Road & Summerhill Road, but there has been a possible sighting of him in the Chesire Road/Schoolhouse Road area of Wallingford on December 19.

Pluto is microchipped and was wearing a black harness and a collar with tags. A concern aside from the typical dangers involving lost pets is that Pluto is unfamiliar with the area and he is also currently on medication.

He is described as very skittish so do not chase him. If you find him or know of his whereabouts, please contact Tina at (203) 747-4142.

Wallingford Animal Control has been notified and is trying to assist. His new owner will be setting up a trap and a number of people are willing to help her search.

With the holiday coming up, many people are busily out and about. Please share with anyone living in or visiting the Wallingford, CT area to be on the lookout for Pluto. Just by sharing, you may reach someone who will bring Pluto back into the arms of loving family members where he can enjoy the season in the comforts of his new home.
