Kevin Clash, puppeteer and former voice of the beloved "Sesame Street" Elmo character, is being sued again. And this time, we can add allegations that he was providing drugs at his underage sex parties, The Huffington Post reported yesterday.
This newest lawsuit was filed against Clash on March 19.
The latest allegations come from Sheldon Stephens, the man who was the first of four to sue Clash alleging underage sex, but who later dropped the suit.
Stephens, now 24-years-old, says that Clash “lured him into drug-fueled sex when he was 16.”
He says he was brought by limousine from Pennsylvania to a New York apartment. There, Clash allegedly smoked crystal meth while giving the teenager another recreational drug.
Clash, 52, resigned as the voice of Elmo last year amid the controversies surrounding his allegations of having sex with under aged boys; but he continues to deny any wrongdoing.
Stephens and the other three men suing Clash admit that their sex with Clash was consensual, but also that they had not yet reached the age of consent when their sexual relationships with Clash began.
All of the alleged victims are seeking damages in excess of $75,000.
Attorney Jeff Herman, who represents all four of the alleged victims, said that:
“All these victims have alleged to me that Kevin Clash was this father figure who offered to help them and groom them with attention and fairly quickly it turned into a sexual relationship.” ~ The Baltimore Sun
Kevin Clash’s attorney, Michael G. Berger, stated that this latest lawsuit against his client is “meritless like the other claims.”
