Alia Shawkat & Ellen Page are writing "Stitch N' Bitch" (photo credit below)
"Juno" made a star out of young actress Ellen Page when it was released a couple years ago, and though her latest film-- "Whip It"-- is bombing at the box office, the star's got another project lined up that oughtta be of interest to fans. Check out what it's all about below, my gentle Examiner readers...
Just a quick bit of news here, my precious snowflakes. If you're a fan of televised comedy, having a subscription to HBO is pretty much mandatory: with "Hung", "Flight of The Conchords", and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (not to mention "Bored to Death", "Entourage"-- for those that enjoy toolbox humor-- and "Eastbound and Down") on their programming schedule, the channel's impossible not to watch if you're a fan of quality comedy writing.
The latest comedy series announced by HBO is "Stitch N' B-tch", a show about two New York hipsters who travel out to Los Angeles to "be artists". What's notable about the show is that it's slated to be written by "Juno" star Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat. The two co-starred in the abysmally performing (I'm informed the film has an 82% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though you'd never know based on the box office, which stands at around $8m after two weeks in release and a 39% drop-off from opening weekend) "Whip It", currently bombing furiously at the box office, and have apparently decided to maintain a working relationship. Comedy fans will remember Shawkat from her role as "Maebe Funke" on the brilliant, dearly departed "Arrested Development".
Not much else is known about this project right now, but the Comedy Examiner will keep you up to speed as things develop. While you're waiting for the show to arrive, you should probably go ahead and order HBO if you haven't already: "Curb" is awesome this season, and "Bored to Death" ain't so bad, either. Check out the Comedy Examiner's review of this Sunday's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" here, and stay tuned for more on that show's "Seinfeld" reunion as it unfolds.

I thought there for a moment the little 'Juno' starlet was the woman that played Piper on Charmed... She is that hot!
The "abysmally-reviewed" movie in question currently has an 82% "fresh" rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
Matt: Good point. Fixed that for you.
Cheers,
Scott Wampler
