New young Latina science fiction author on the scene

It's my pleasure to introduce you to Rosemary Rivera, author of the fantasy novel, Ahii. Rosemary is a Domican, Puerto-Rican American from New York. She is 24 years old. At a young age, Rosemary developed a stutter that kept her from being able to express herself. Through the years, she found that writing enabled her to be able to say things she otherwise kept inside. She had to endure many tragedies in her life, for instance, the death of her father. But, these experiences forced her to face, not only who she is, but who she will become. She's won various awards and has a B.A. in Creative Writing and an Associate degree in Science. Besides her novel, she's also published an autobiographical poetry memoir.

About Ahii:

There's a new fantasy story in town and it's nothing like the ones you've read with wizards or vampires. Sure there's a little gore, especially with the villain, “Happy” who loves to suck the soul right out of the pretty, little girls and draw grins on their face with a kitchen knife, but there's so much in store if you explore below the surface of the novel: Ahii: Another story about a girl... by Rosemary Jasmine Rivera.Set in planet Daeon, the theme of color comes alive as each city dresses its people in their respective shades and hues of the rainbow all to show forced support for the heroes of then and now. You can thank the OCD'd magistrate for that. And poor Ahii feels useless when she goes into battle not knowing how to properly operate stick shift, or work the pole. If only she had listened to her mom and not participated in the “become a hero” lottery. Want to know more?

There's also a Spanish version of the novel.

"If you're looking for an awesome book with a deep, rich background that you feel you can just keep going, then look no further than this book. It is not well known, but the author knows what she is doing. While reading I found myself constantly wanting to know what will happen to the main characters. This isn't your typical story, it has action, love, intrigue, and the ending will leave you wanting to know more. I enjoyed every second of this book. If you want an escape, then pick up Ahii. I give a 12/10, that's how I feel about this book and I hope more people will agree. Let's help out this young, new author. I would love to see more of her works for years to come." --Amazon reviewer
