From a chance encounter in 2010 in Dublin, Ireland, to a no less fortunate occurrence in Manhattan later that year, the members of the now NYC-based band have been counting their lucky breaks.
The serendipitous karma seems to follow The Charmers, the not-so-conspicuous name the band gave itself, perhaps in result of these accidental happenstances. To be exact, one by one, the three musicians literally discovered and re-discovered each other by accident at various musical venues around the world until they saw the writing on the wall.
The result, The Charmers line up today is: Paul Staunton, frontman, singer/song-writer and guitar player; Shane Visbal, bass; and Michael Galante, drums.
Since their charmed beginning in Ireland and a debut gig in Brooklyn on August 24, 2013, the band is looking forward to one more performance here, in New York, on September 13, at 9:00 pm at Connolly's Pub Klub 45 (121 West 45 Street, between 6th Ave. and Broadway), before heading off to the studio in November to record their first album.
The band will travel to Dublin, where it all started, for the recording sessions. Prior to that, they will charm their fans at The Leeson Lounge on 148 Leeson Street, Upper Dublin 4, Ireland, on Thursday, November 7, from 9:30-11:30 pm.
