New York's 4th of July events start Thursday night

Despite the fact that "New York time," like "Jewish time," is associated with later than the time specified, there are occasions when New Yorkers like to be early. That includes events to celebrate national holidays. Independence Day falls out on Monday, but the celebrations being tonight.
 
AT Central Astoria Waterfront Concert ,Thursday, June 30 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, tey celebrate with fireworks and mBig Band Music with Joe Battaglia and the New York Big Band. That is to followed by a spectacular Grucci fireworks display.
 
Fireworks are also scheduled tonight at 9 at Orchard Beach, though festivities start even earlier, at 6:30 pm.
 
 
Then the main fireworks show that people associate with New York, of course, will take place on Independence Day itself on the Hudson River, as it has been for the past couple of years.The Macy's Annual Fireworks  is scheduled to start around 9 PM on July 4th.  Fireworks are to be simultaneously set off from 6 barges located between 20th and 55th Streets.

The Fireworks can be viewed from any area with an unobstructed view of the sky above the Hudson River. The best views are below 59th Street at the following access points along 11th Avenue.

26th - 30th Streets
34th Street
40th - 44th Streets
47th - 52nd Streets
54th - 57th Streets
 
If you can't be there in person, it is scheduled to be covered live on television, and I'm sure that videos will be posted to Youtube.
