New York Road Runners reopens Brooklyn Half registration

Due to unprecedented demand, New York Road Runners (NYRR) today announced that they will reopen registration for the Brooklyn Half Marathon on Wednesday, April 10 at 12 p.m. An unannounced number of spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Brooklyn Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 7 a.m. The iconic race takes runners through Prospect Park, down Ocean Parkway to finally finish at Coney Island on the boardwalk.

The Brooklyn Half Marathon has been reported as "hands down the best" and "a grand race" in a Runner's World survey of half-marathons. In the past three years, the race has doubled in size. When registration for the Brooklyn Half Marathon opened on Friday, February 15, it sold out in just hours. Registration is $55 for NYRR members and $75 for non-NYRR members.

Volunteer registration for the Brooklyn Half Marathon will also launch next Wednesday. NYRR is offering guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to next year's Brooklyn Half Marathon for all volunteers.
