New York Restaurant Week Favorites & Tips (Photos)

With a full week of New York Restaurant Week under your belts, the real Foodie Fun can commence.

Nearly 320 restaurants are offering Restaurant Week special menus, specially priced menus and other Gotham surprises, there is not enough time to indulge in a Food Fantasy culinary tour.

Yet this is the opportunity to create a treasure map of sorts – a wish list of food destinations.

Like a fine Le Cordon Bleu classically-trained chef, one can meticulously plan out a New York Restaurant schedule. By neighborhood. By cuisine. By schedule: lunch or dinner.

Or one can throw caution to the wind and just go with a “food mood.”

You have them. You know you do.

Never mind about “Meatless Mondays” and that sort of thing.

This Examiner can just ache for Italian on Friday nights, Indian on Mondays, Peruvian on Thursdays and so it goes…

Do you have different food moods for the days of the week or the meal?

Is fulfillment a block away or a jump on the subway transporting you to food satiation?

It’s no secret that one can go round the world and never leave New York City.

So get your passport ready.

Here is the full list of participating New York City Restaurants for NYC Winter Restaurant Week.

Please be advised that many restaurants listed do not offer dinner…

This Examiner called a number of top-tier restaurants for dinner only to be informed they are only doing lunch… So call ahead.

The excellent, user-friendly restaurant listing provided by NYC & Co is excellent.

It provides menus and an easy, one-click way to Book Now reservations.

The listings provide restaurants by neighborhood. By cuisine and by meal. Some restaurants are good enough to provide a menu too.

This Examiner not only celebrates the food and drink of the world’s best restaurants but also encourages readers to dine at those restaurants hurt by Superstorm Sandy and her ugly twin sister, Athena. Those restaurants are downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn- especially Red Hook and some parts of Staten Island and Queens.
