The New York Mets rookies wore bridal attire as part of a hazing prank. The new guys dressed in bridal party gowns holding bouquets and flowered headbands thanks to a funny prank organized by LaTroy Hawkins. On Sept. 24, Beige Info reported that at least a dozen "new guys" took part in the hilarious prank with pitcher Zack Wheeler playing the part of the bride.
People are finding the prank really funny but many also think it's cool that these guys went all out for this and many of them didn't seem to care too much about dressing like chicks on the "big day" -- which was a wedding, not the World Series game 7.
The New York Mets rookies donned bridal gowns as part of this year's light and fun hazing prank. Pictures of the guys dressed in their bridal bests have made their way around the Internet this week thanks to Hawkins' posts on Twitter and Instagram. Perhaps what is even more entertaining is the fact that the rookies traveled by airplane in their dresses and kept the whole prank going for hours. Even the flight attendants got into it and they all had a lot of laughs.
There aren't too many ways rookies can bond with their new teammates... go out for burgers, talk in the clubhouse... so doing something extreme is a great way to bring the new guys up to speed and get everyone laughing. It eases tension and could really help them all play better together.
