Houston Rockets trade news has the team landing Jordan Hamilton from the Denver Nuggets. The Rockets trade point guard Aaron Brooks to complete the deal, this according to a report from CBS on Thursday morning (Feb. 20). Having just dealt Andre Miller to the Washington Wizards, this fills the need for a point guard coming off the bench for the Nuggets.
Brooks could actually step into a starting role if the injury bug lasts much longer for the Nuggets. The team could have really used Miller at the position over the past week, but his public argument with coach Brian Shaw left a lot of bad blood with the team. In the three-team trade with the Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers, the Nuggets got forward Jan Vesely.
This Houston Rockets trade lands the team another scoring option off the bench, as Jordan Hamilton has never been shy about putting the ball up. He brings added youth to the roster and could be an interesting option as a wing player when some of the big guys are on the floor. With how little the team was using Aaron Brooks off the bench, this deal definitely has to be seen as a positive move.
