New York Knicks rumors have the Raymond Felton injury close to becoming a thing of the past. According to a report from Tuesday night (Jan. 22), Felton could return as early as Saturday's game (Jan. 26) against the Philadelphia 76ers.
This is big news for fantasy basketball owners who have been holding on to Felton during the past five weeks he has missed. Felton has been trying to recover from a broken right pinkie and he has finally been able to return to practice. Now he is participating in conditioning drills to get back in game shape as soon as possible.
Felton was picked up in the offseason to become the starting point guard for the Knicks again and it has turned out very well. Before he got hurt, Felton was posting averages of 15.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 1.21 steals per game. The team has really missed him over the past five weeks, even though Jason Kidd has performed pretty well in his absence.
Kidd needs to be playing fewer minutes, so getting Felton back is going to help with that, but it could also be very interesting to see how he flows with Iman Shumpert. Shumpert and Felton have yet to be on the court at the same time, so this could create an interesting dynamic.
These New York Knicks rumors are good all around and it is time for fantasy basketball owners to get ready to use Raymond Felton once again. As for those owners with Jason Kidd, his limited minutes might make him no longer worth a roster slot in typical fantasy league formats.
