These latest New York Knicks rumors have La La Anthony convinced her husband (Carmelo Anthony) is going to re-sign with the franchise in the offseason. According to a report from Monday (Jan. 27), this information came out while she was doing an interview on the Bravo show "Watch What Happens Live." This should certainly come as good news for fans of the team, especially because he wants to opt out of his current deal to test free agency.

Knicks To Trade J.R. Smith?

Speaking about her answer, she explained that, "I definitely think he will stay [in New York]. I know that he wants to stay and I support him wherever he wants to go. Listen, I used to live in Denver with him. If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy." There have been plenty of stories in the past few seasons about how much more she enjoys living in her new city and the family pull might just help keep him in town for the rest of his NBA career.

when Carmelo Anthony got traded to the team from the Denver Nuggets, he signed a three-year, $64 million contract extension. He is in the second year of that extension and year three is considered to be a player option for just over $23 million. Many New York Knicks rumors have addressed what he might decide to do next, but by opting out of his current deal, he can re-sign with the team on a $129 five-year deal. The biggest deal he could sign with another franchise would be $96 million over four years.
