New York Jets continue to rebuild roster with veteran players

The New York Jets continue to reshape their roster with the signing of several free agent players. Here is a recap.

Recent signings

Antwan Barnes : Outside linebacker/San Diego Chargers/23.5 career sacks. A veteran player that can rush the passer and will compete for a starting spot.

Mike Goodson: Running back/Oakland Raiders/722 career rushing yards. A interesting back with quickness that could flourish in the west coast offense.

Willie Colon: Offensive lineman/Pittsburgh Steelers. A veteran offensive lineman that can play both guard and tackle.

Antonio Garay: Defensive tackle/San Diego Chargers/138 tackles. A player that should help replace Mike Devito and Sione Po'uha.

Re-signed players

Nick Folk: The Jets kicker the last 3 seasons. 21/27 on attempts in 2012.

Tanner Purdum: The team's long snapper since 2010.

No compensatory picks awarded- On Monday the NFL announced the teams that will be receiving compensatory draft picks in the upcoming draft. The criteria for a compensatory pick is: "a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks."

The Jets did not receive any additional picks.
