2010 New York Giants draft class We have to give the New York Giants front office the benefit of the doubt. Their overwhelming need was to beef up their defense, especially the middle of that defense. They needed to upgrade their run defense, and they chose to do that on their defensive line. |

2009 draft one year later: New York Giants This is a weird one; it is never good when two of a team’s draft picks are not retained by the practice squad. Some of that we can write off as injuries. Ya know injuries happen and there is no real way to plan around them. However the main picks in this draft had very little production and that is a lot more concerning. Granted picking at the bottom of the first round, the team does not need to hit a home run, but putting together a solid draft class is the goal, and so far that is not the case here. One year ago I gave the Giants average grades for their offensive heavy draft, but I have soured on it a lot since then. |

What should the New York Giants do with their first round draft pick? The Giants could go several ways with the 15th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Depending on how they chose, and rank their current needs we can make three effective arguments about which player they should select. |

Draft Day decision makers: New York Giants Jerry Reese is the General Manager of the New York Giants, and 2010 will be the fourth time that he has taken the lead with the Giants on draft day. He worked for a number of years with former Giants GM Ernie Accorsi. |

Giants needs heading into 2010 This is a tough one to figure out. The Giants have needs that mostly lie on the defense, but given the age of their offensive line OL depth may be considered the biggest weakness. We also cannot discount the lack of the 1,000 yard rusher on the 2009 version of this team. |

Fix the Franchise: New York Giants edition The New York Giants used last year’s draft to fix their WR crops, and they may be the biggest strengths on this team, as I have previously argued the problem for this team is not on the offense. Sure they could use some O line depth, but that can be addressed in late rounds of the 2010 NFL draft. The team needs defense, big defensive playmakers that can clog up the middle of the field. While the secondary was a concern that seems to have been taken care of. |

2009 NFL season in review: New York Giants It really seemed like the New York Giants were a lot better than their 8-8 record suggests. They also somehow managed to finish third in their division, with that in mind there is some blame to go around. Some want to put all the blame at the feet of QB Eli Manning, but it really seems that this team needs a little tweak on the defensive side of the ball and they will be just fine. |

New York Football Giants have big questions at reciever After cutting WR Plaxico Burress, due to his legal troubles, and letting WR Amani Toomer continue his |

It is cut down day in the NFL. Bu the end of today every NFL team must be down to the 53 player roster they will use for the coming season. So far that has not been that many surprises beyond the Giants cutting WR David Tyree who made the catch to get the Giants drive going in Super Bowl 42. While Tyree missed most of the 2008 season with an injury it was generally assumed he would make the squad. Really though the Giants are still loaded at wide out. |

2009 New York Giants draft analysis Through the entire off season we were waiting for the New York Giants to pull the trigger on a trade for either Braylon Edwards, or Anquan Boldin. Why they were unable to get a trade like that completed is anyone’s guess, but the Giants headed into the 2009 draft needing a number one receiver |
