New York Fashion Week 2013: The Heart Truth runway show kicks off festivities

The Heart Truth runway show kicked off New York Fashion Week. CBS News was there at the event on Feb. 7. The star-studded event included appearances by Kelly Osbourne, Toni Braxton and Kris Jenner.

The Heart Truth runway show has become a staple at Fashion Week. Celebrities walk down the runway, modeling red gowns by the biggest designers. The Red Dress collection is only around for a limited time each year.

The first Heart Truth runway show started in 2001. It was held at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute instead of the fashionable tents in New York City. It's included big named models such as Heidi Klum and Christie Brinkley.

Now, celebrities are getting in on the action. Kelly Osbourne walked the fashion show in a red strapless Zac Posen dress. Toni Braxton wore a Herve L. Leroux halter gown.

This isn't only the only festivity going on. The Lincoln Center in New York will be bustling with tons of Fashion Week parties. There will be plenty of early Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day events taken place at hotels and nightclubs in New York City. Both celebrities and designers will be rubbing elbows at these events.
