It was announced today that the roster for New York Fashion Week Men’s Day (#NYMD) will be making a come back on September 3rd 2014. Based on the success of last season’s showcase, NYMD will be expanding with the continued support of Cadillac which returns as the presenting partner.
Each label a total of ten and up from six that presented last season in February, when the first NYMD was held for the first time, will showcase their collection in their own, fully styled space, with five designers showing in the morning and five designers showing later in the day.
Like last season the 10 designers will create a Mylar wrap for the new Cadillac EDR for a competition chosen by fans. The winning design will be announced on Cadillac’s Facebook page on July 21st, and the car will be on display at NYMD in September.
The centralized showcase creates ease for the editorial and buying teams, but also supports emerging design talent. Every year hundreds of Men’s designers struggle to showcase their brands with literally no platform or while sharing the spotlight with womenswear Fashion Week. The latest season of Men's Fashion Week recently concluded in Milan and Paris where the presentation success has a much higher well known rate than NYC, this news come well received by the fast growing men’s designer and brands market of New York City. #NYMD will be presented at Industria Studios.
