Rodarte is known for their fresh and funky designs. But they threw in a little surprise at New York Fashion Week, according to a Feb. 11 report by the Huffington Post.

Rodarte debuted their Fall 2014 collection on Tuesday afternoon. The collection included plenty of vibrant and colorful 70s-inspired dresses, coats and pants. The outfits had splashes of paisley print and touches of crochet knitting.

It also included “Star Wars”-inspired silk gowns that featured Yoda, Luke Skywalker and C-3PO, the Huffington Post reports. It’s no secret that Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the talent behind Rodarte, have a close friendship with George Lucas.

Twitter was abuzz in chatter and photos from the fashion show. Show attendees and journalists didn’t take long to share photos of the models in the fun gowns. The buzz quickly turned into praise for the designers.

Most loved the dresses. Critics were happy to see some spark and creativity on the runway.

New York Fashion Week has been a little dull this year. Most of the trends include dark colors, cowboy elements and cow prints.
