Kenneth Cole made a triumphant return to New York Fashion Week with his new collection after a seven year hiatus, according to a Feb. 8 FashionTV report.
Cole’s runway collection channeled an “Urban liberation” theme and featured mixed designs of tweeds, metallic sweaters and vests, wool vests, knits and leather. With standard dark black, gray and sprinkles of green and deep burgundy, the collection showcased every fashionista’s dream fall and winter closet.
Similar to the BCBG runway collection, layering was a huge part of Cole’s designs. As seen in the photographs, the female models rocked jackets with vests, gloves and boots. One could label the runway collection “urban chic layering.” For the men’s collection, there was an array of sweaters, hooded jackets and driving gloves, among others.
Cole definitely had the “cold” in mind when designing this collection and it showed in the details. FashionTV described the collection as “an ode to downtown New York in every way with a streetwear vibe that played to colors like black, gray, and deep green. The futuristic elements -- studs, metallics, and sheen -- played up the collection in every way.”
It is the perfect collection to rock during storm Nemo. As with all other fashion events, its not really stylish until the celebrities show up, is it? Those with prime front row seats at the Kenneth Cole show included Armie Hammer, Elizabeth Chambers, Heidi Klum and Brooke Shields.
