According to a Feb. 6 Associated Press report, New York Fashion Week F/W 2013 kicked off in style with “The Heart Truth 2013 fashion show” held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Feb. 6 in New York. The “Red Dress Collection,” which puts the spotlight on fighting heart disease was modeled by celebrities, including Minka Kelly, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Toni Braxton, Gabrielle Douglas and Kelly Osbourne.
Celebrity fashionistas and non-fashionistas rocked various designer gowns, including Badgley Mischka, Herve L. Leroux, Marc Bouwer, Cushnie et Ochs, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen and Pamella Rowland.
Actress Brenda Strong was elegant in a Marc Bouwer’s draped style and pulled on her Miss America experience to make sure she did not trip on the runway. “In my last incarnation, when I was in college, I was a Miss America contestant. That was a long runway!” she said.
Diet Coke’s “Heart Truth” ambassador, Kelly was delightful in Oscar de la Renta. “This is all done with a sense of humor. It's fun. I don't fancy myself a model, but maybe the models aren't relatable if we're not perfect, so it works for me,” she said.
Osbourne, sizzled in Zac Posen and Douglas enjoyed her turn in a Pamella Roland gown. “I am participating because of the heart health cause. ... I want young girls to think about it. I want to get the message out,” Douglas said. “My advice to them is to stay active, eat healthy.”
Trainer Jillian Michaels joined the fashion show in a Cushnie et Ochs gown, while Toni Braxton was lovely in Herve L. Leroux. The Jenner family showed their support with Kris, Kendall and Kylie Jenner all walking the runway in Badgley Mischka. Kris rocked a form-fitting gown, Kendal wore an embellished cap sleeve look, and Kylie stunned in a plunging back.
