New York biker events, June 27-29

July is heating up already so be sure to stay cool this weekend in between your motorcycle events! The Blackthorne Resort is holding their Spring Run in the Catskills and that is sure to be a great weekend of fun if you're in that area. You also have two opportunities to support our vets or help a cancer victim. And don't forget the benefit for HA Ted this Saturday in Mechanicville! Have fun and be careful out there. Whatever you do, avoid Sand Creek Road in Albany! There is major construction there all summer and, trust me, it is no good for motorcycles or any type of vehicles!

FRIDAY-SUNDAY, JUNE 27-29: Blackthorne Resort Motorcycle Spring Run, 348 Sunside Rd., East Durham, NY; 518-634-2541.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28: Benefit for Ted Baldwin, Hells Angels Troy NY, 1:00-6:00 p.m., American Legion Post 91, 477 South Main St., Mechanicville, NY; Pig Roast, Music by Cardiac Noose, Acoustic Trauma, 50/50, $20 donation.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28: Beat the Beast Cancer Benefit for Big Bri, Noon, River Street Pub, 194 River St., Troy, NY; Live music, pig roast, great cause, Sawer Illustrations INC. Rocky Sawyer will be doing caricatures for $5 & Lillian Whitaker will be face painting the kiddies from 12-4 p.m. $20 at the door.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28: CVMA Feed Our Vets Ride: The Combat Vets Motorcycle Assoc. is hosting a ride to support the Watertown Feed Our Vets Mobile Pantry. ALL BIKES WELCOME! The ride starts at FXCHD - entry fee is $20 per Rider, $10 per Passenger and registration for the ride will get you 15% Off Licensed Products!! Register from 9:00-10:30, Kick Stands Up at 11:00.

And, by the way, if you haven’t already, go out and grab yourself a copy of Hell on Wheels, an Illustrated History of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs which includes some great pics of our very own local club members. You can find it in local book stores or online at amazon or Barnes and Noble ! Ride Safe!
