New Years Eve with kids

Don't have a babysitter for New Years Eve?  Are you stuck with the kids for the countdown and don't know what to do to celebrate?  Don't fret, make New Years Eve fun with your kids this season.

Here are a few suggestions to make New Years Eve with the kids a blast:

  • Make a countdown ball out of paper mache, or use a balloon, and have your own countdown to the  New Year.
  • Sit down and make a list of New Years resolutions for things your family wants to do together in the upcoming year.
  • Use old magazines or newspapers laying around the house to make confetti for your countdown.
  • Make a New Years Eve craft.Have a theme dinner.Make fun smoothies, rootbeer floats, punch, or some other fun drink for the kids.

Don't feel like staying in?  Try out the Explorium of Lexington's New Years activities.  Feel like going for a drive?  The Newport Aquarium is offering their First Annual New Years Eve Kids Countdown with Scuba Santa from 3:30-5p.m.  Finally, Amerisport Gymnastics is offering a New Years Eve slumber part for ages 5 and up.

So gang don't sit and sulk around the house for New Years Eve because your babysitter isn't available.  Be creative, have fun, and best of all have a Happy New Year.
