New Year's Resolutions: Making money work in 2014

See also

As New Year's Day rings in a clean slate, so goes many financial goals. While many will be hoping to lose weight and travel more, it's also a good time to clean up the financial aspects of your life.

Here are some thoughts:

  1. Work to make your payments on time: From car payments to the regular utilities, keeping everything paid on time and beyond the scope of no return will bring some peace of mind.
  2. $50 a month, make it for you and family: We're all working to make a better quality of life, not to just pay bills. Put some money aside for a monthly dinner out with family or treat yourself to something you've been stalking in the mall.
  3. Shop three months early for the Christmas season: Money is always tight around the holidays. Get ahead of the game this year: Shop early, shop often.

The year 2014 doesn't mean make the same mistakes. Learn from what didn't work and adjust where necessary. Commons sense to a point, but a good reminder.
