Every New Year's Eve, a lot of people make resolutions. They are everything from losing weight to going back to school to being more adventurous.
There are a few that want to improve their relationships in their marriage. It's important for everyone to have a great relationship with one's spouse. In life, when problems arise, the marriage suffers. Most people neglect their spouse more than any one else in their life.
When making New Year's resolutions, hardly any one will make a resolution to improve their relationship with their spouse.
This year, make good resolutions for improving the marriage. The changes one makes doesn't have to be anything major. One can make decisions to do things that are very simple.
Another suggestion would be to leave notes where the spouse will find them: in a lunch box, in their briefcase, or on the bathroom mirror. The note could say something as simple as, “I love you”, “Have an awesome day”, or “I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight”. Anything positive can go a long way.
A resolution could also be not to nag or complain as much. All negative words hurt and destroy marriages. No one makes improvements if they only hear what they're doing wrong all the time.
For those wanting to get into shape or are looking for a new adventure, The Movement, on North Main Street, is having their 3rd annual Pajama Party & Swing Dance on January 4th. This would be an excellent idea for any married couple. They would be spending quality time together and having fun at the same time.
Whatever resolution a married couple decides to make, just make sure that one is made. All couples should do anything they can to make their marriage a happy one. Remember, any kind of positive gesture will go a long way.
