New Year’s resolutions for juniors who will be applying to college in the Fall (Video)

College applications may seem far away right now, but the time to work on them will be here before you know it. The resolutions below could help make the college application process much less stressful and possibly even more successful.

  1. I will not procrastinate.
  2. I will read more because it will help me get better test scores.
  3. I will sign up for, and use, the “Question of the Day” offered by ACT and SAT
  4. I will meet with my school counselor to talk about college.
  5. I will talk to my parents about how much we can afford to pay for college.
  6. I will visit at least one local university to see what they have to offer.
  7. I will begin to research colleges so I have a list of colleges that have what I’m looking for by summer.
  8. I will take the SAT and/or ACT once before the summer.
  9. I will complete at least one college essay during the summer.
  10. I will consider taking an interesting class, volunteering, or working during the summer.
