A lot of people are in search of different methods to improve their intelligence and it is no wonder with such a competitive world. Most people who are trying to get a promotion or finish their university studies in good standing will find it very difficult to avoid cognitive enhancers of some sort.
Caffeine is one of the most well-known and used cognitive enhancers, but there are plenty of others that will give you more of an edge over your competition. Many of these also don't require you to build a tolerance for specific types of drugs.
Racetam and the Brain
One of the most well known group of cognitive enhancers are called racetams. This family of drugs was discovered in the early 1970s and has been well-studied since then. In numerous tests, piracetam has been found to improve cognition in elderly and youth populations. Combined with choline, it is a particularly potent memory enhancer, which is perfect of people who want to grab the new year by the neck.
More potent versions include aniracetam and oxiracetam, which are both very well known and researched. The oxiracetam has been studied less over the past few decades, but aniracetam is about as old as piracetam. The studies all point to similar modes of action on the brain and yet, aniracetam and oxiracetam are far more potent.
Modafinil for Attention
Improving your attention and focus is a huge part of improving intelligence and your cognitive abilities. With Modafinil, you will be able to increase focus and attention manifold, but this is a prescription drug. Make sure you speak with your doctor about using this if it is needed. It is like a more advanced version of caffeine, but it is not as bad as Ritalin and Adderall, which are both amphetamines.
Herbs for Cognitive Enhancement
If racetams or Modafinil are not something you are interested in, there are plenty of natural cognitive enhancers that might be beneficial for you. One of these includes Asian ginseng, which is a great herb that has been used by ancient Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
Additionally there is bacopa monniera and ashwagandha, which are both Ayurvedic herbs utilized in India. Combining them can be more dangerous (especially if they are extracts), but it is worthwhile to consider the natural methods first.
