Dubai wanted to usher in 2014 with grand style and on Tuesday night the fans watched as the world record for fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve was set. In six minutes over 400,000 fireworks blew off Dubai's 828-meter Burj Khalifa building and all along the shore. The moment was epic and it kept going so everyone watching could see a really amazing performance.
Dubai has become what some are calling the "Second Hollywood." Famous people arrive in this region to work and meet fans. Plus major motion pictures are filming in Dubai too. With so much interest in the area, it was surprising that there were no celebrities watching this big display live.
While American’s might find the fireworks a bit over the top, people can appreciate the idea of making the entrance of the New Year the biggest possible. With fans clamoring to find the live feeds for the Times Square New Year’s Eve ball drop, the chance to see this firework show might have been slightly overlooked. Thankfully, to have a Guinness World Records event, it has to be documented for authenticity so everyone can see the lights go off at the stroke of midnight.
