The 2013 Peach Drop is still more than 12 hours away, but the New Year’s Eve fun kicked off on Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at Underground Atlanta. Festivities began on Monday morning and continue until 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day. “We love to hit Underground on New Year’s Eve Day because there’s so much to do,” mom Cindy Smith from Roswell said on Dec. 31, right before her annual trek to Underground. “It’s a family tradition for us and there's a ton of security, so it's safe."
During the day, the emphasis is on family fun. “We have a stage dedicated to Atlanta’s talented youth where 12 local Atlantans (under the age of 18) are performing,” explained Michelle Lawrence, Director of Marketing for Underground Atlanta. Kids are sure to enjoy the Peachtree carnival rides, face painting and balloon artists. The Pac Man arcade is a new attraction this year.
The nice thing about the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta is that families can enjoy the festivities during the day and clear out before the revelers hit the streets at night. Family-friendly performances run until 6 p.m. on the Budding Peach Stage. Below is the daytime schedule of young artists.

Nationally renowned acts, including Abbey Road Live are set to perform on the Kenny’s Alley and Main Stages. An explosion of confetti and fireworks begins right after the giant peach drops at the stroke of midnight. Those looking to keep the party going can cruise the clubs on Kenny’s Alley, as most will stay open until 4:00 a.m.
