If you're a gin drinker and are going to someone's house this New Year's Eve you already know there will probably be only one bottle of the cheap stuff, if there's one at all. It's always the one untouched bottle at the end of the party. No one knows how to drink gin other than mixed with tonic and lime. Gin = Boring. But Beefeater 24 wants to change that image. Agreed, gin is an acquired taste but only because it has an actual palate unlike vodka (which explains why there are so many different flavors of the stuff). The trick is bringing out the botanicals. Like wine, tequila, scotch, whiskey and bourbon, gin has layers. And your mixers should enhance them, not smother them.
If you're looking to try gin for the first time or just want something more interesting; the brilliant mixologists over at Beefeater have compiled a short list of delicious and festive Beefeater 24 cocktails for you to ring in the new year. Grab a bottle and a few extra ingredients on your way to the party and enjoy New Year's Eve like all gin drinkers should: in style. Perhaps you'll even convert a few friends in the process.

- 2 parts Beefeater 24
- 1 part Earl Grey Syrup (add Sugar)
- ¾ part Lemon Juice

In a shaker, add all ingredients except the ice. Shake cocktail thoroughly. Add ice and shaker again to chill and froth the cocktail. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lemon zest.
To make Earl Grey Syrup, combine a very strong brew of Earl Grey Tea with sugar in a 1:1 ratio. Allow to cool before use.
