If you like a big show on New Year's Eve, Seattle Center has a myriad of ways to say farewell to 2011. Of course the biggie is the display of fireworks off the 605-ft. tall Space Needle at midning. But there's plenty to see and do until the countdown begins. And most of it's free.
The Rhythm Nation will take to the Center House Stage at 8:15 PM, playing r&b, rock, dance and 70s-90s "old school music." The Center House Food Court vendors will be open during the performance. Beginning at 8 PM on the South Fountain Lawn, there will also be mobile food trucks and carts including these vendors:
- Fusion on the Run
- Dante's Inferno Dogs
- Curry Now
- Athena's Gyros
- Hot Diggity Dog
- Parfait Organic Artisan Ice Cream
- Snout & Co.
- Lumpia World
- Taco Gold
- Pinwheel
- Charlie's Buns & Stuff
Seattle Center Winterfest means indoor decorations and outdoor lighting, along with these activities:

The Seattle Center Monorail has extended its hours, remaining open until 1 AM on Jan. 1, 2012. Due to safety regulations, the trains won't be operating between 11:15 PM and 12:20 AM, or until the fire marshall gives the "all clear." Times are approximate.
