If you’re planning to stay in on New Year’s Eve 2013 or New Year’s Day 2014, TV options are numerous and include the New York City ball drop, a slew of college football bowl games, and a multitude of TV marathons. It all starts on Tuesday night with the annual ball drop event in Times Square.

As posted by NBC News on Dec. 29, Miley Cyrus, Blondie, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will all perform before the big drop. Melissa Etheridge is set to sing “Imagine” by John Lennon right before 2013 comes to a close. U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor has been tapped to press the button to begin the 60-second descent of the infamous Waterford crystal ball over New York City. This is Ryan Seacrest’s ninth time as host. On Dec. 30, he told “Billboard” about why this annual gig is so special to him and stated:

In a world where people are on different pages all the time, this is the one moment where you feel like everybody’s on the same page.

More than one million people will brave the cold and pack the streets around Times Square. However, millions more will watch the New Year’s Eve ball drop from the comfort of their homes. If you fall into this category, ABC will present every second of the action during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” The initial broadcast begins at 10 p.m. EST on Tuesday night, takes a 30-minute break at 11 for local news, continues at 11:30 p.m. and runs until 2:15 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Over on FOX, Mario Lopez hosts the live New Year’s Eve celebration from Las Vegas. J. Cole, New Politics, Krewella, and Panic! at the Disco will perform during the 90-minute TV special that airs from 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m. On NBC, Carson Daly rings in 2014 from Times Square beginning at 11:30 p.m. Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin cover the NYC festivities for CNN from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
