Start the new year off with a healthy beginning. There really are places to go and things to see and do that don't cost a fortune and are both fun and naturally healthy.

First Day Hikes: Every state park in Georgia, and all 49 other states, are collaborating on an historic event. Each park has planned a ranger-led hike to start the new year off with a healthy jog up, down or around the park nearest you. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is still decorated with more than one million lights. If Christmas was too hectic to get out and enjoy a stroll through the gardens, then make it this weekend or by New Year's Day.
