New Year's contest featuring free resources for educators

Educators can start a new year with new games and some freebies from TeachersPayTeachers. Games help motivate and engage students, provide tiered and differentiated instruction and make great anchor activities for early finishers. Card and board games with colorful graphics help ESL and struggling readers.

Reader’s theater is a great way to build fluency, comprehension and provide an authentic reason to motivate students to read and reread material.

To enter the New Year’s contest for 14 free products, head over to TeachersPayTeachers. Browse the store. When you find a product you like, pin, repin or like on Pinterest. Each of these actions is a separate entry into the contest. Then use the Q & A feature on the site to send your Pinterest handle (name), the names of the 14 products (one winner will get 14 items for 2014 for free) and an email address where the digital products should be sent. On January 4, 2014, one winner will be chosen.

In addition, three products will be offered free of charge based on the number of “votes” (pins, repins and likes on Pinterest) they get between now and January 2. Whichever one in each category (card game, bingo game and literature reader’s theater) gets the most votes will be changed to free during January 3 – 4, 2014.
