It is a New Year and a new you. Why not make your home a new one too by cleaning all of the old out and keeping it clear of all of that junk? Why not get into the habit of cleaning every day this New Year so nothing will get cluttered up? With the New Year that has just come upon us, making a New Year's resolution to clean your house as often as possible and keep it clean will not only make you feel better but will also make your home look better. You want your home to always look great for guests who come by so getting into the habit of cleaning every day or even every other day is a good idea. Here are some great tips to get you going and to help keep your home clean every day.

Windows

No one likes to clean the windows but they need it. Using a squeegee instead of a cloth or paper towel is a good idea. You can also use a sponge and dip it into a bucket of warm water with some dish washing liquid in it. Use the squeegee afterward to get rid of the excess water.

Wood Furniture

If you have wood furniture you will want to keep it looking great all the time. You can do this by using wax to keep the dust and dirt off of it. It is better to use paste wax. Use a solvent first to clean it up. Then apply the wax and buff vigorously.

Preventing Mildew

Everyone wants to prevent mildew because it is disgusting. You can prevent it by keeping surfaces clean, improve circulation in the room, and decrease the dampness in the room. You can do this by not bunching towels together.

Dusting

Instead of using the traditional duster which can actually leave dust behind, you can actually use a paintbrush that has not been used. It is big enough to get into corners better than a regular duster. You can also use an electrostatic cloth that is great for getting dust off everything. Use one on wood furniture as well. Using one on your garage cabinets is a good idea as well since they get pretty dirty.

Cleaning the Refrigerator

Although this is such a daunting task and no one wants to do it, it has to be done. You can actually make things easier on yourself by throwing out old food as soon as possible and wiping up spills right away. Doing this, it won't stain and it will be easier to clean. You can also use baking soda mixed with warm water to wipe everything down.

Use your Vacuum attachments

Most vacuum's come with attachments. These attachments can be used to get into corners that your vacuum won't reach. Get to know the attachments and use them all when you need them to get everything cleaned really well.

Using these tips will help you reach your cleaning goals this New Year.
