New Year Resolutions and 2012 in review

2013‘s here. Which if you’re like me means A) 2+ months of writing the wrong year for the date, B) that you’ll trying to remember 2012 and getting some 2011 in already, and C) you’re writing New Year’s resolutions… in January.

Looking back at 2012 game news, there was the announcement of D&D Next, which didn't really excite me. There were also the AD&D reprints, which did. They apparently sold well enough that WotC is reprinting 2nd Edition books and old adventures with some new stuff. Fantasy Flights began releasing Star Wars Games. There was video game news that I didn’t cover (see my resolutions). There were conventions, awards, and … Anything anyone wants to remind me of/ plug?

Enough of the past. Let us look to the future. In 2013, I plan to …

Write about Evercon 2012 and 2013. Evercon 2013 is coming this Friday and Saturday (January 11th and 12th). I’ll be there to Friday running a Pathfinder game.

Write about Johnny Cee’s, my local game store. I keep putting it off due to unlucky timing and general busyness. Time to rectify that.

Review every Star Wars SAGA book. SAGA is my current favorite Star Wars system and the most recent fully launched.

Explain why I haven’t written about video games. Then write a little about video games.

Run an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons campaign, using at least one module with a home-brewed dungeon. Afterward I’ll review the AD&D Dungeon Master’s Guide, perhaps with overall game commentary and history.

Exercise an addition 3 half hour sessions each week and limit my soda intake to 10 per week. This has very little to do with gaming, but it’s a good idea.

Anyone have resolutions they want to share? Drop them off in comments. Happy New Year.
