On New Year's Eve, we were informed by a media representative that the Grammy-nominated artist Matisyahu is featured in Moshav's new “World on Fire” single and music video available for immediate download on iTunes. “World on Fire” is Moshav's first collaboration with Matisyahu. It is also the first single from the rock band's upcoming album, “New Sun Rising,” which will be released in March.
Moshav is a Los-Angeles-based based, multi-genre American/Israeli rock band. “New Sun Rising” will be their eighth album. The rock band has a worldwide following with lyrics and music that combine aspects of reggae, folk, alternative rock and funk. Diverse influences on the band's music include Santana, Peter Gabriel and The Police as well as U2 and Bob Marley.
In accordance with the celebration of a New Year, the themes of rebirth and renewal are the themes of “World on Fire.” The album also focuses on the importance of kindness and the infinite opportunities that are possible by starting over. Often these concepts are the focus of many New Year’s resolutions and music can be a solid reminder to help people stay on track.
The “World on Fire” music video was filmed in West Los Angeles by Bancs Media. The video follows the unusual journey of a $20 bill as it passes through the hands of various people experiencing their own personal human dramas. The currency highlights hopes, dreams and relationships during the course of its journey. The personal stories illustrate opportunities, new beginnings and the belief in the transforming power of hope. Moshav co-founders, David Swirsky and Yehuda Solomon, appear in the music video.
Co-founder Yehuda Solomon stated the song evokes a picture of our “World on Fire.” He said, “Fire is a powerful tool that we can use to either cause harm or destruction, or to bring light into darkness. The possibility to 'turn around and start over' requires courage. To stand up to our fears and doubts so we can 'carry each other' even though we humans seem so different.” He adds that sometimes the things in this world that seem the furthest away from each other are actually connected.
With regard to the collaboration with Matisyahu, Solomon said it was a real pleasure. He stated Matisyahu is an artist known for singing about unity and hope. As a result, the collaboration felt very natural and right. Matisyahu indicated the collaboration was the result of his friendship with Moshav and respect for their music.
Matisyahu said, “Working with my good friends from Moshav has been as always a blast. I think the fun we have with each other and the love we have for each other really comes across in the sing and video.” Listening to the song shows the love these collaborating artists have for each other as well as the “World on Fire.”
Moshav's eight albums/discography to date include “Dancing in a Dangerous World” and “The Things You Can't Afford.” Visit the “World on Fire” lyric link for the compelling lyrics to this song. Check out the iTunes download link to get “World on Fire” now.
