The Peoria/Bloomington-Normal PBS station, WTVP premiered its new locally produced show about Illinois independent filmmakers on August 17th, at 11pm, right after Austin City Limits. Hosted by yours truly, Timm Gillick, The Screening Room showcases short films made by Illinois residents.
The premiere episode featured four films: "Hardboiled," a film by Nic Collins; "Filmies," by Josey Wenger; "Down To Us," by Chase Reatherford; and "Lenny Morris vs. The Universe," by Evan Powers. An interview with Josey Wenger played right after his film.
To date, only two episodes have been filmed, the one that aired and another that was filmed the next day.
Plans are to eventually have The Screening Room as a weekly show, with new short films every week.
Produced by Paul Coussens, Dan Little, and Brett Wagner, the second episode airs on September 7 with the following films.
