One of Miami Beach's most popular events, "Pulse 2.0: Late Night at the New World Symphony" returns on Friday, March 22, providing music lovers with the unique opportunity to enjoy both classical music and club lounge music within an informal, yet visually striking, setting.
Pulse 2.0 will feature the classical musical artistry of the gifted NWS musicians, along with the talents of Miami-based DJ Sean Drake, who will spin lounge music between two sets of classical music. The classical portion of the program will feature composers such as Mozart, Shostakovich, Guillaume Connesson and Steve Reich. DJ Drake is known for his spinning at such popular Miami nightspots as Vagabond, Pawn Shop, Shadow Lounge, NFA and Liquid.
This is a musical event unlike no other. Music lovers can sit and enjoy the event, or they can wander up to the New World Center stage to view the musicians up close. In addition, some performers will be located on the hall's satellite stages, positioned throughout the room, and the hall's seating will be retracted, allowing for socializing.
The event will also feature a vocalist, as well as "Pulse Unplugged," a 15-minute set of orchestral music, in which NWS musicians will perform an ensemble piece without amplification. The event concludes with DJ Drake presiding over a dance party.
The event is also unlike traditional a NWS concert because attendees will be able to purchase cocktails to imbibe while enjoying the music or dancing.
Tickets are $25 and available by calling the NWS box office at (305) 673-3331 or may be ordered online.
