New women's basketball coach to be announced Thursday

Fresno State Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh announced Wednesday the hiring of the 10th women’s basketball coach, Jaime White.

White comes to Fresno from Colorado where she coached eight seasons at Northern Colorado.

"We are very pleased that Jaime White will be leading our women's basketball program," Boeh told gobulldogs.com. "Throughout the search process, Jaime displayed a level of clear vision, expertise and enthusiasm that will be vital for the continued advancement of Bulldog women's basketball.”

White earned Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year honors during the 2010-11 season and is the winningest coach in Northern Colorado history.

Over the last four seasons, White led Northern Colorado to a 72-54 record and helped Northern Colorado transition from Division II to Division I.

“Her early mentors are some of the finest coaches in the West and she recently demonstrated her capacity to lead significant program growth by building a Division I team from its infancy to perennial postseason play,” Boeh said.

An official press conference announcing White’s hiring will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Save Mart Center.

"I am honored to be the next women's basketball coach for the Bulldog program that has such an outstanding tradition,” White told gobulldogs.com. “I am thrilled to be back in the Mountain West and looking forward to being a part of the Fresno community."
