New 'Witcher 3' screens arrive (Photos)

Fresh off the unveiling of its "The Witcher 3" cover, GameInformer released a handful of new screenshots Wednesday of CD Projekt RED's new RPG.

Details of the upcoming sequel are still scarce, but the Polish developer confirmed "The Witcher 3" will be a complete open-world game with an area that will rival the size of "Skyrim." Geralt, now sporting a beard, will return.

The new screens still look a little rough, and only a minor upgrade over the extremely impressive visuals of "The Witcher 2." But development is still early, and having such mesmerizing graphics in such a large open world is unheard of.

No platforms have been announced, but the game will certainly arrive on the PC, as with the previous two games in the series. No word on whether it will be released on Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles.
