The Maryland Genealogical Society has recently updated their website, with a brand new look, and new content!
The new design--using black, tan, and red--is a great improvement over the previous white and red theme. The homepage also contains information about upcoming programs, and updates to content in the Member's Only section.
One of the best new additions to the website is a text file containing the Tables of Contents of every issue of the Maryland Genealogical Society Bulletin (the predecessor of the Maryland Genealogical Society Journal) and the current Journal, from its start in 1960 through 2011. These publications include instructional articles, record transcriptions, case studies, research on specific families, and book reviews. The Maryland Genealogical Society Journal, as currently published, is one of the benefits of membership, but back issues can also be purchased directly from the Society.
Another new offering from the Society is a Research Service. Members can request searches for $20 per hour, and non-members can request searches for $30 per hour.
If you are not currently a member of the Maryland Genealogical Society, take a look at the site, and consider joining, with a joint membership to the Maryland Historical Society.
